‘Tattoo Deer’ – Dan Clorley

“Tattoo Stag” by Dan Clorley feels as if is is caught right between reality and a dream. The stag itself is full of power—the enormous antlers look like they could scrape the sky—but there is something almost otherworldly about it, as if it is part of some ancient forest myth. The brushstrokes are loose and fluid, giving the entire painting a sense of motion, even though the stag is standing still. There is a delicate balance between the wild and the ethereal, as if the stag could either step right out of the painting or vanish into the fog at any moment. The whole vibe is bold yet mystical, as if the viewer is getting a glimpse into something untamed but fleeting.
