Richard is a Cheshire based artist who operates from his home studio. His creative drive stems from the exciting possibilities that arise from combining glass and wood in his artwork. By skilfully juxtaposing these materials, he crafts unique pieces that beautifully blend and enhance their individual characteristics. Richard skilfully employs hardwoods like Oak and Ash, which imbue his creations with a sturdy and timeless essence. At the same time, the glass elements allow light to pass through, resulting in a delicate and ethereal effect that complements and contrasts the solidity of the wood. He expertly employs traditional techniques in stained and leaded glass, keeping alive centuries-old artistry. Additionally, Richard experiments with new techniques, such as fusing glass and metal in the kiln, to create innovative and captivating effects.
