“I was born in Manchester, UK.  I studied Art at Manchester Grammar Sixth Form which is where the oil painting seed was planted. At the age of 23 I began training to become an airline pilot which has been my full-time profession to date, however since the start of 2020 when the World and Aviation got flipped on its head, I didn’t fly for the best part of a year. The silver lining for me was picking up a paint brush again. Everyday that year I was painting, reading and obsessively studying art which has now really blossomed into a passion.

I enjoy painting both “en plein-air” and in the studio, being mainly drawn towards Landscapes/Cityscapes working only with oil paints, my goal is to master the oils. I like to paint representational pieces but pushing into the abstract world. I’m a big fan of loose brushwork as well as using palette knives and rubber shapers.” Daniel Clorley
