Sally Darlington has lived in Chester for over 30 years and is recently retired. She grew up on the South Coast close to the sea, and today her happy place is her caravan on Anglesey, a few minutes from the beach, with her husband and 2 border terriers. A love of collecting sea glass on their walks led to Sally “tinkering around” with the glass and developing a passion for creating pictures with it.
Sally has spent hours and hours collecting sea glass from the beaches of Anglesey, North Wales. Sea glass typically takes 20 to 40 years to develop its characteristic pitted texture and form. Sally looks for specific pieces and colours that together can create animal shapes. She always has “less is more” at the back of her mind as she creates her artwork, hoping the simplicity will appeal to others.
