Hazel Griffiths-Jones began her creative journey at school, later pursuing a career in mental health before returning to art with renewed passion. Her work reflects a deep love for the coastline and the rich history surrounding her.

She has exhibited and sold artwork across Anglesey, where she spends much of her time, as well as at Abbeywood in Delamere, Ellesmere College, Holyhead, Beaumaris, and Chester Art Fair. Hazel’s work has reached collectors internationally and includes both private and corporate commissions.

In 2017, Hazel received a commission for a “quirky” piece at Rosebridge in Chester. This led to Deva Leader, a five-foot-wide painting of a horse racing through the city—now stabled in the Chester Office on Nicholas Street. The piece marked a turning point, blending realism and imagination in a new way.

Hazel’s adventurous spirit continued with The Black Seal, created for an Anglesey restaurant. The painting united sea, sky, seal, and a local landmark. She also enjoys live painting, having demonstrated coastal speed painting with Neston Art Society.

Working in acrylics and oils with brushes, palette knives, or whatever suits the moment, Hazel embraces every creative challenge—and welcomes commissions, whether simple or complex.
